Middlesex University has invested £800 million in the Grove building. It is the home of the best creative facilities in the UK. This building hosts state-of-art TV studio, 3D workshops, extensive photography facilities and film production suites:

    • Media Loan store: All media staff and students can borrow equipment for their coursework throughout their studies. During term time, the loan store is open from Monday to Friday 9.30am-5.30pm. During the summer it is open Monday and Thursday 9.30am- 5.30pm. Equipment must be booked online.
    • Art shop & stores: Staff and students have access to the Art shop & stores, with a range of materials needed for the coursework.  Set in the ground floor of the Grove building, it is open during term time from Monday to Thursday, 9.30am - 4.30pm and Friday, 9.30am -4pm. During the summer it is open every Wednesday from 10am till 3pm.
    • Photography studio: Middlesex offers a wide range of studios and facilities for photography students. The studios include professional lighting options which mean you can change background colours and effects. Advance bookings must be made at the reception desk in the basement of the Grove building where you can also hire cameras.
    • 3D printer:  Design students can access the 3D printer but it depends on the course you are studying. It is not open daily and you need to purchase your own materials. Double-check with your tutor.
    • Radio studio: The radio studio, in the first floor, can be used and accessed with the university card. Ask your teacher for more information.
    • TV studio: Once a month, the TV studio hosts Broadcasting Today which is run by a media student who interviews those in the media industry. This studio has also a ‘lighting and vision’ control room and a ‘production and sound control’ room that students can use.
    • Newsroom:  this was newly renovated last year with new computers with Avid, iNews and NewsCutter and TVs with news from around of the world. It has also a green screen where the students can practice their presentation skills.
    • Post production and edit suites: In addition to the basement of the library, the first floor of the Grove has a room where it is possible to use the whole Adobe Suite. Opening hours are the same as those of the Grove (Mon-Fri , 7.30am-10pm; Sat, 9am-6pm; Sun, 10am-6pm).
    • Fine arts, illustration, graphic design, animation and interior studios: They can be found on both on the first and in the second floor of the Grove. They allow students to fully immerse themselves in their work and to practice their skills.
    • Dance studios: The University has four fully equipped theatres. The Grove dance theatre has the largest with lights, an audio mixer and TV studio gallery for co-productions. Students can also use the costumes, cutting tables and sewing machines.
    • Music studios: On the ground floor of the Grove there are several soundproof rooms that can be used for rehearsals. They are open to all students and access can be obtained with the use of your student card.
