Mehnaz Mahaboob is a Design Engineering: Mechatronics student who is making her mark in the usually male-dominated field of engineering. Mehnaz has competed in a number of national competitions, winning a gold medal in Mobile Robotics at a national skills competition called Skills Show UK in 2014, and achieving a silver medal in Mechatronics at the Skills Show UK 2015. Her success at the national competitions has earned her a place to represent the UK at the international skills competition Worldskills, which will be held in Abu Dhabi in 2017. Mehnaz is juggling training for the competition with her final year, but the dedicated student is looking forward to competing alongside her UK teammates who have also been named the best in their fields.
