Jane Arthurs is Professor of Television at Middlesex University. Her research has won international acclaim, especially her article on Sex and the City and Consumer Culture and her subsequent book entitled Television and Sexuality. Her research on Celebrity, Gender and Reputation Management at the BBC has recently been published in an award winning collection on Gender and Public Relations. Her extensive contribution to media and cultural studies research was recognised in 2014 when she was appointed as an output assessor in the Research Excellence Framework Panel.
