Olga van den Akker is a Professor of Health Psychology in the School of Science and Technology at Middlesex University specialising in reproductive health psychology. Olga believes that reproductive healthcare services should reflect the needs of the populations it serves, including the generations resulting from these innovations, reflecting past changes and future needs contextually to inform policy, practice, and media. Because of Olga’s expertise on surrogacy and the alternative family, she is highly sought after by the media and has appeared in The Guardian, BBC Radio and TV, to name a few. Recently, Olga was funded by the SRIP to lead international workshops highlighting problems in third party reproduction from a psycho-social, legal and international policy perspective.
