Students score placements

MDX students Danny and Charlie have been networking with people from all over the world as part of their placements at ESPN, a subsidiary of Disney. They were able to find out about the placements from the Employability and Careers team at Middlesex, who helped them apply for their roles. Danny and Charlie felt that their degrees gave them a strong foundation of knowledge and skills that they were able to use in the workplace.

Danny says "My course played a major part in giving me the academic and competency skills to work in a finance team, such as giving me confidence in producing reports."

"My degree prepared me well for the professional working environment", says Charlie.

In their placements, Danny and Charlie have been able to explore further their areas of interest. Charlie says "I enjoy the level of responsibility that I get from my role and I have managed to gain experience in the TV licensing side of things."

They were also able to enjoy the social aspects of working in the media industry, including complimentary tickets to premier leagues, sporting events, and watching pre-releases of Disney films.

"My year has been lively and there has never been a dull day. I would not change my placement year for anything, it could not of have been more beneficial or fun than this", says Danny.
