    8 must-have university apps for higher education students in London

    Students, with the right apps, can easily and effectively manage their time, money, academic and social life, all from their mobile phones. From over six million apps available online today, here are 8 must-have smartphone apps for students living in London:

    1. Citymapper

      This app makes travelling around London both much easier and cost-effective. It automatically uses your search location to work out various travel options to your destination with time and total cost displayed, so you can make informed decisions on how you choose to travel.

    2. Eventbrite

      With this app, you can plan, promote and sell  events as a student, as well as, have unlimited access to lots of events that take your interest. Event campaigns are easy to set up and electronic tickets are used to make attending events easier and lighter.

    3. Cite this for me

      Formerly RefME, this app takes the pain away from manually citing your academic work by using a simple search process. It can reference your works in over 7000 styles including Harvard, APA, MLA etc.

    4. Triposo

      This app can help you find the most exciting and interesting things to do and see around London. It covers categories such as food, nightlife, sights, attractions, hotels  and so much more with over 50,000 places in its database.

      Meetup can enable you to connect with like-minded people in a fun and relaxed environment. With over 30 million members, you can use the app to meet with external groups also interested in your studies or local area for idea sharing, while also building valuable networking contacts across London.

    6. TodayTix

      If you are a student who loves theatre shows, this is one app you need to have in order to enjoy access to unlimited shows happening around London at huge discounts. With this app, you can save up to 50% from various exclusive deals that are available through the app.

    7. Evernote

      This app will help you stay organised as you juggle your time between university, work and social life. It is used in create, organise and share notes, which you can personalise further with links, checklists, tables, attachments and audio recordings.

    As a Middlesex University student, downloading MDXapp onto your mobile device will greatly enhance your learning experience. From useful campus updates to facility navigation, there is so much you can do through the MDXapp such as accessing:

    • My Learning – access your personal learning portal with information about your course, modules, reading lists and upcoming assignments
