What’ s on offer
We offer a wide variety of sports and regularly enter teams and individuals into competition. To make it easier for you and when we have sufficient demand, we offer free transport to training between Hendon and Trent Park and to some external training facilities also. To book your place on the minibus call 020 8411 4651.

Give it a Go sessions
We also offer a range of recreational sports that can be found on our ‘Give it a Go’ sports pages. Group exercise classes can be found on our exercise class page.
Casual hire
For those wishing to play sport with friends socially, why not use the outdoor MAC courts. These can be hired on a casual basis for sports such as football, basketball, netball and tennis, contact The Fitness Pod on 020 8411 6343.
Athletics
Competitive Team
We enter individuals and teams in the full range of athletic competitions, including cross-country, indoor and outdoor athletics. We also have links with local clubs and coaches for a range of events.
Training Sessions are at Barnet Copthall Stadium, Hendon
- Also on Thursdays from 6.45pm- road running sessions at the Clubhouse, New Barnet
- Saturdays 9.00am Off road running/intervals sessions are at Trent Park. Meet at the Cockfosters Road entrance car park.
Give it a Go sessions
For those with little or no experience our Give it a Go programme is a great way to get started. We offer a Jogging sessions at Hendon . Visit our Give it a Go page for more information.
Badminton
The badminton team train at Trent Park sports hall. Transport can be arranged from Hendon campus. All levels welcome, but please book your space on the bus as spaces fill up quickly.

Basketball – Men
The Men's basketball team play in two leagues, the Student BUSA League and the Herts Basketball League.
Training sessions are

- We also offer a Give it a Go session Thursday 6.00- 8.00pm MACs Hendon
Basketball - Women
The Women's team play in the Student BUSA League. We also have links with Edmonton Phoenix Basketball club.
Training is at

Boxing Training & Muay Thai Boxing (Men and Women)
Both of these are Give it a Go sessions and not competitive sports. We currently do not have a boxing team. Boxing training is coached by a qualified ABA coaches. All equipment provided. Open to males and females.

Cheerleading
Cheerleading is very popular at the university. The team compete against other institutions and in open tournaments. They produce their own routines and regularly support other Middlesex teams in competition.

Cheerdance
Cheer Dance focuses on the dance aspect of cheerleading with categories in Jazz, Hip Hop and other types of popular dance. The squad compete in events throughout the year with a big event at Easter.

Cricket
Another popular sport at the University. We provide indoor and outdoor training starting in October. We also run a Give it a Go session for those not wanting to compete in a University team.

Football (Trent Park)- Men
If you are a Trent Park student then this training is for you as training takes place at Trent Park campus. All teams compete in University leagues and competition.

Football (Hendon) Men
Hendon has 4 men’s teams due to the size of the campus. Training is split due to the popularity of this sport. Hendon 1&2 train on the astro turf at the rear of the Hendon campus. All teams compete in University leagues and competition.

Football Men 1st Team
The first team is the university’s premier team. These players are selected from all the University’s football teams to make up an elite squad. You’re selected to play, so if you’re good enough your coach will put you forward. (Invitation only)

Football - Women
The women’s team is a full 11-a-side squad who compete in student leagues and competitions. All levels and ability welcome. Fitness and skills training delivered by a qualified coach.

Futsal
A newly introduced sport. We are running a competitive University team and as a Give it a Go recreational session. Futsal can be compared to 5-A-Side football and is played predominantly indoors.

Gymnastics
We offer general, artistic and rhythmic gymnastics and cater from novice through to elite athletes. Come and give it a try. Students compete in BUCS competitions and Open events. Open to male and female participants.

Handball
This is a Give it a Go session. Handball is a team sport played by two teams of seven players each who pass the ball to each other and try to score by throwing the ball into the opponents goal.

Hockey - Men
We have a long standing tradition at Middlesex for hockey and have a fantastic facility on campus. Teams compete in student leagues with experienced players also competing for SHC.

Hockey - Women
Our Women’s team had a great season last year winning all of their games and without conceding a goal. We have Competitions in student leagues with experienced players also competing for SHC.

Judo
We recently introduced Judo and boast two Future Gold athletes in the club, so we are off to a promising start for the sport. All levels of ability welcome from beginner to elite. Competing in student championships and tournaments.

Karate
Middlesex have a long standing success with producing high calibre competitors in Karate. Many only take up the sport on joining the University. Opportunities for regional and national competitions. All levels welcome.

Muay Thai Boxing
Brand new to Middlesex University is our competitive Muay Thai Boxing team, developed from our Give it a Go introductory sessions. If you are already an experineced Muay Thai fighter and would like to compete for the university please come along to our competitive session or get in touch with the sports office.

Netball
Netball is popular at the University and we have 3 teams competing in student leagues and competitions. All levels of ability welcome. Come along and give it a go.

Real Tennis
A fantastic facility on campus. No previous experience necessary. Full instruction and equipment provided. Entry into student competitions and leagues, and maybe a chance to play in Bordeaux or Fontainebleau.
Rugby League - Men
Rugby League is fairly new to the University and we have forged some fantastic links with local club London Skolars. All levels of ability welcome.

Rugby Union - Men
Rugby is a popular sport at the university, with a great social scene. All levels of ability welcome, full training given by qualified RFU coaches.

Rugby Union - Women
Rugby at university is usually the first time girls really get the opportunity to play this sport, so many have not played before. A real team sport with fun social scene. All levels of ability welcome, full training given by qualified RFU coaches.

Touch Rugby
Non contact. Come and learn to play the basics of this team sport through our Give it a Go session

Squash & Racketball
Squash and Racketball sessions at Finchley Manor Squash club. All levels of ability welcome. Come along and enjoy a fast action packed game with friends and colleagues.

Table Tennis
A fun sport requiring great hand eye co-ordination. The team compete in student leagues as well as Individual and British Student Championships. All levels of ability welcome.

Tennis Men & Women
Training takes place on the floodlit outdoor MAC courts on the Hendon campus. Full instruction given. Teams compete in student leagues and cup competitions. Come along to a session and give it a go.

Trampolining
The team compete in student leagues as well as Open competitions in Cardiff and Ireland. All levels of ability welcome.

An introduction to Volleyball through our Give it a Go session.

Weightlifting
We have some fantastic weightlifters and powerlifters at the university and this sport has grown over the years. Individuals compete in student competitions. All levels welcome.
