    Information for returning students

Welcome back to all of our Middlesex students returning this autumn. Here is some information to make getting started again as easy as possible.

What you need to do before returning

    Re-enrolment

You can re-enrol via myUniHub from the 4th September 2017. You must do this in order to access your teaching timetable.

    Student funding

If you are an undergraduate student and your fees are being paid by Student Finance England, you need to ensure you re-apply for funding online at gov.uk/studentfinance. Once you have completed your application, you will need to sign the declaration form and return this by post to them. It is advised you do this as soon as possible so your payment is not delayed.

More information about fees and payments can be found on UniHub.

    Register with a GP

You may be aware that the Student Branch surgery of Ravensfield Medical Centre on Greyhound hill has recently closed. All students who were registered with this surgery will be automatically registered at the Golders Green surgery; 166 - 168 Golders Green Road, London, NW11 8BB. For ease of travelling, you can reach the Ravenscroft Medical Centre via a short walk from Golders Green Station on the Northern Line or via the 83 and 183 buses.

If you have any questions or comments about the surgery moving, please email ravenscroftmc@nhs.net

    Events and Welcome back activities

You don't have to be a new student to enjoy the Welcome events on offer this year.

    Welcome back fair

Thursday 12 October, 11am-4pm, The Quad

Meet the support services on offer at Middlesex and find out how they can help you achieve your academic, personal and professional goals. You can also enjoy plenty of fun activities in the Quad, such as giant Jenga, chess and dominoes.

You can find a full calendar of the social events across the Welcome period on UniHub. You can also find more information about events being run by MDXSU on their website.

    Improvements over the last year

    While you’ve been away…

    MDXworks

Your Employability Service is now called MDXworks. The recently launched MDXworks employment hub also now incorporates our brand new on-campus Unitemps Middlesex recruitment agency matching Middlesex students to paid Middlesex jobs.

MDXSU win Students' Union of the year

MDXSU has become the first ever London Students’ Union to win the title of Students' Union of the year in the history of the award.

Middlesex Students’ Union exists to support you and ensure you have the best time possible at University. It’s never too late to get involved with MDXSU’s range of activities and events – why not check them out here.

    IT improvements

As part of a series of University-wide IT improvement projects, we’re delighted to announce:

    • The launch of the university’s new student mobile app – MDXapp, which will be available from 4 September 2017 on all android and IOS devices. MDXapp will include key features including your teaching timetable, campus map, essential e-learning resources, key contacts and plenty more.
    • The upgrade of myUniHub over the Summer, including a mobile-friendly design
    • The upgrade of My Learning (Moodle) to be mobile-friendly
    • We have deployed two new cabinets of laptops (one at the entrance to the Quad and another in MDX House) for students to borrow. This brings the total number of laptops for loan up to 330
    • Following student feedback, we have introduced a new online chat service for UniHelp. Use the ‘Chat with Us’ tab on all UniHub and myUniHub webpages to start a live chat with one of our advisers. Initial feedback from students has shown that this chat functionality is very popular, with students getting instant answers to their queries. You can also still submit online queries and read our FAQs via UniHub.

These improvements will ensure you can access the information you need where and when you want it – even when you’re off campus – to make the most of your time here at Middlesex.

    Any questions?

If for any reason you are not able to return, or you would like to discuss your return with Progression and Support Advisors then please submit a query here or call 0208 411 4423 between 9am - 5pm, Monday - Friday.
