Our Sport Science students will often study at Saracens Allianz Park – a professional sporting facility that provides a real working environment to support our academic programmes. This close and unique relationship between a professional sports club (currently rated top in the UK and Europe) and our University, gives us a niche market reputation in attracting students from all around the UK, as well as internationally.
Students have access to cutting-edge technologies such as motion capture, force sensing plates embedded in walls and floors, full body scanning, computer analysis and analysis of blood, urine and cortisol. There is a studio with health and fitness equipment and a building with weightlifting platforms which is shared with the talented Shaftesbury Barnet Harriers.
Social space for students between classes is provided in various hospitality rooms around the East stand stadium when available.
Following student feedback, we have also introduced the Global Food Van to provide students with great selection of hot food, hot and cold drinks and a contactless payment system. The Global Food van is closely monitored to ensure we continue to improve at Allianz Park as well as our Hendon campus, so why don’t you tell us what you want to see? You can send recommendations to Chartwells@mdx.ac.uk
The van is open from 9:30am – 3:00pm on Mondays and Wednesdays and 10:00am – 3:00pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
We encourage students who study at Allianz Park to provide feedback in a number of formats. You will often be given the chance to complete surveys as part of your studies, however you can also contact your Student Voice Leaders at any time.
