Study abroad (1 or 2 terms)

Study part of your MDX degree abroad

You can study part of your MDX degree at one of our Partner Universities which gives you an opportunity to enhance your knowledge and skills within your field

When to go?

Most 3-year degree programmes allow MDX students to study abroad (1 or 2 terms – depending if there are any yearlong modules) in your 2nd year. You should apply early on in your 1st year in order to secure a place.

Postgraduate students study abroad during the write-up stage of your dissertation/final project (minimum 1 month).

Academic recognition

Before you start your study placement abroad, you will need to prepare your Learning Agreement together with your programme leader which will be a proof that you will study suitable modules for your programme at our Partner University.

There will be an exchange module added to your record and if you go abroad on a full year study placement you will still be required to enrol on UniHub. You can check the credit conversion here.

How do I register?

If you are interested in studying part of your degree abroad, here are the steps to take:

  1. Partner Universities – check this list and choose which University you would like to study at (at least 2). Please make sure you have researched their courses on offer.
  2. Create a provisional list of modules offered at your chosen Universities – keep in mind they should be similar (if not equivalent) to the modules that you would be studying at MDX.
  3. Discuss your chosen Universities and modules with your programme leader.
  4. Once you have your programme leader’s approval (in an email format), please submit the form.
