Outgoing study exchanges (international)

How it works

If you are an enrolled Middlesex student at either undergraduate or postgraduate level, you are eligible to apply for an exchange at one of our international partners.

If your desired institution is not on our partner list, it means we do not have an institutional agreement.

When students apply, selection will be made on the basis of academic merit, relevance to programme of study e.g. compulsory study abroad, benefits of research/study visit, widening participation status, and overall motivation.

When to go?

Undergraduate students

  • Students go on exchange during term time either in the 2nd year of a 3-year degree programme or the 3rd year of a 4-year degree programme.

  • You should have completed all academic requirements of your study before the start of your exchange. A minimum duration of 3 months and maximum duration of 5 months.

Doctoral students
