Louis Smith MBE joined students at our most recent PG Connect speaker event to talk about how to stay focused on your goals.
The evening followed Louis’ journey to become the first British gymnast to win an Olympic medal in 100 years. Students asked Louis about the challenges he faced along the way and how he maintained focus on such an ambitious dream.
When asked about how students just starting their career can help achieve their ambitions, Louis said:
“Stay focused on the goal. Don’t lose sight of what you’re doing. Set yourself sub-targets, sub-goals and make sure you know what you need to do to achieve those.”
The evening concluded with a networking session in which Louis exchanged ideas and advice with students and alumni over food and drinks.
