Get the chance to be mentored by senior or executive level staff at the Ministry of Justice
Following previous success, we are proud to again partner with the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) on this exclusive JUMP Mentoring offer - whereby the MoJ have offered exclusive access to 25 of their senior and exec staff for MDX students to match to for a six month mentoring programme.
The JUMP Mentor programme offers students the opportunity to be matched with a senior MoJ staff member and to gain invaluable 1:1 insight, guidance and advice on career options and opportunities within the MoJ and the wider Civil Service.
Mentoring is more than giving advice, it’s about motivating, empowering and helping you (the mentee) to understand your career goals and how you can get there. A Mentor is not there simply to provide ‘the answers’, but to help guide YOU towards ‘the answer’ that aligns to YOUR career aspirations and goals.
The JUMP programme will run for approximately six months and if selected you will start your mentorship in November 2019 with arrangements for 1 x telephone / Skype meeting per month with your matched mentor. There is also the potential for a short work experience opportunity at the end of the programme for the selected mentees.
The MoJ mentors are drawn from senior management and executive level staff and include:
Senior Policy Manager
Head of Legal Aid Strategy
Deputy Director for Vulnerable Offenders
Deputy Director Head for Information Services
Head of Governance
Design and Delivery Manager
Senior Press Officer
Private Secretary to the Minister of State for Health
Successful candidates will be notified on 22nd October and asked to attend a mandatory 'pre-programme' workshop scheduled to run between Wed 23rd - Fri 25th October
The first Tel/Skype session with your matched mentor is likely to take place in early November.
