LinkedIn Learning is basically just an enhanced version of Lynda.com – providing a more personalized experience, as well as a greater breadth of online training and courses to suit you.
For all students using Lynda.com your account will be upgraded on 20th June 2019 at which time you will no longer be able to access Lynda.com. But don’t worry, all your learning activity and history will be seamlessly transferred to LinkedIn Learning.
After the upgrade is completed, which will be sometime during the same day, you’ll receive an email to activate your LinkedIn Learning account. You can expect to see this on 21 June 2019.
Please note that LinkedIn Learning is separate from the LinkedIn professional networking platform. When you activate your account, you will be provided with the option of ‘connecting’ your LinkedIn profile (if you have one already) to your Learning profile.
There are several benefits of making the connection – enhanced learning recommendations, ability to add completed course certifications to your LinkedIn profile – but it is not mandatory. You can choose to use LinkedIn Learning without a LinkedIn profile, and use this online learning platform just as you may have used Lynda.com previously.
There’s more information on upgrading to LinkedIn Learning and the activation process, options and the benefits of connecting your LinkedIn profile all on the new LinkedIn Learning website.
The move to LinkedIn Learning will provide you with a much-improved platform and user experience.
