The Mayor of London runs this annual competition where students from universities all over London come up with sustainable business ideas to help make London a better place to live and work in. For the first time this year there are three separate awards focusing on the Environment, Technology and Creative Industries sectors.
You need to apply through this website by midnight this Sunday 17th February.
Students enter their business ideas, which will be judged by a panel of expert judges. The top thirty from each award will go through to the semi-final where the top five will be selected to pitch their ideas, Dragon’s Den style, to a panel of celebrity judges at City Hall.
The winner of each award receives £20,000 and expert advice from City Hall to bring their idea to life.
By applying, you will gain valuable experience and skills that can help improve future employability, and you also have a chance to make a real difference to the way we live. Additionally, there are free workshops at City Hall which are being offered to all applicants.
This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your business idea, get feedback on your ideas, network with like-minded students from universities across London and hear from past winners and finalists.
Through applying you will also be eligible to apply for one of 30 mentorships with some of the corporate partners of the GLA.
The competition closes on Sunday the 17th of February so there is no time like the present to get your ideas in.
