A General Election is likely to be taking place on 12 December (weather permitting) which means you must register to vote before 26 November, otherwise you will not be able to exercise your right to vote.
Registering to vote is important for all students to do because the government makes decisions on things you care about such as climate change, student fees and the NHS - things that will directly impact your future.
It is simple to register to vote and takes only 5 minutes. You can do so online here.
Voting is a right and it is vital that you exercise that right; with almost two million university students across the UK, you are part of a group that will play a decisive role in the outcome of a potential General Election.
Please note that you will need your National Insurance number to register to vote. Look for it on payslips or official letters about tax, pensions or benefits. Find out more about whether you’re eligible to vote and to register here.
