What is a Student Voice Leader?
A Student Voice Leader is an incredibly important role that gives you the chance to represent your coursemates and improve the experiences of students on your course and across the University.
It’s a fantastic opportunity to develop new skills, confidence and get more involved with your department as well as MDXSU campaigns and events. Don’t worry, you’ll be trained and fully supported throughout your time as a Student Voice Leader and it’s also a great way to meet new people!
There will be at least one Student Voice Leader for every year on every course who will be responsible for gathering feedback and representing their fellow coursemates at two meetings a year called Programme Voice Groups. Here they will discuss issues that you and you’re coursemates have highlighted and work with academics to find solutions to make the University even better.
How do I nominate myself?
All you have to do is head to www.mdxsu.com/elections and fill in a quick form to nominate yourself before Wednesday 16th October.
What happens next?
If you’re the only person to nominate yourself on your course for the role, you will automatically become the Student Voice Leader!
However, depending on the size of your cohort, if more than one person runs, it will go to an election where your coursemates can vote for who they would like to be the SVL.
