You are invited to enter the ‘Changing the Culture Initiative’ 2020 Agents of Change competition where the prize fund is £1000 of Amazon vouchers.
To enter, we are looking for you to produce something (could be a story, piece of technology poetry, film, visuals, photography, animations, music, graphics, artwork, etc.) which enables the University community to drive forward positive social change and transform our University culture into one which is more inclusive, open and diverse.
We will showcase the selected work in an online exhibition (to be launched during September-October 2020) and subsequently used in various awareness-raising and communication mediums, including internal channels (UniHub, MDX app, MDX social media) and externally (sector conferences, community events).
The Changing the Culture Initiative (CCI) is a university-wide programme of projects which aims to shift attitudes, values and behaviours and create more inclusive and tolerant communities.
The student community has been central to the initiative’s success on projects such as ‘No Home for Hate’ and ‘Building Bridges’. Even in the current lockdown conditions, continuing to engage and ensure the student voice is loud and clear in whatever we do is as important as ever.
Why YOU should enter
This competition will provide you with an opportunity for your voice to be represented in an online exhibition to be showcased to all Middlesex students and staff in October 2020.
There’s also an opportunity for your entry to be used in university-wide messaging as well as externally with community organisations and partners. In short, this competition presents a great opportunity to build your CV and portfolio.
A prize fund of £1000 of Amazon vouchers are up for grabs.
There will be an audience award – students and staff who visit the online exhibition will be invited to vote for their favourite entry.
In addition, a panel consisting of academic, community and industry experts, will award 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes.
Awards will be announced in November. You’ll be notified by email. A condition of accepting an award is that you may be asked to be interviewed for use in internal communications.
Please submit your entries by 5pm Monday 7 September 2020. Send to Ben Serlin and Helen Bendon at CCI@mdx.ac.uk (please see entry form below). Any late submissions will not be entered into the competition.
