Do you have an idea for a start-up or a new business?
Given the current circumstances, we have taken the difficult decision to postpone the Entrepreneurial Barnet Competition until this summer (dates TBC). We believe this is the fairest decision for all potential contestants. The contest will definitely still go ahead, so if you have an idea for a new start-up, product or service, or an idea for a social enterprise that will have a positive impact on society, or if you are running a business that’s less than two years old that needs an extra boost, we still want to hear from you. There is now a confirmed prize fund of £15,000 on offer, along with advice from business experts and online workshops to help develop your idea.
As an MDX student, you are eligible to enter the BIG competition and have the chance to:
Receive support and coaching from business experts
Win thousands of pounds to put towards your business
Showcase your ideas
Barnet’s BIG Idea Entrepreneurial Competition promotes and develops enterprise and entrepreneurship throughout the student population of the Barnet area.
This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your ideas, be coached by business experts and win funding to develop your business.
Up for grabs this year is a cash prize fund of £10,000 as well as a great selection of other business-enhancing prizes on offer, including digital marketing support, business cards and more.
How does it work?
Stage 1: The Elevator Pitch
Applicants have two minutes to pitch their idea. Successful candidates progress to the next round.
Stage 2: The Plan
Contestants are asked to complete a business plan. These will be assessed by judges and three finalists will be chosen.
Stage 3: The Final
Contestants go head-to-head and pitch in front of a live audience and panel of expert judges.
