    Meet your new Student Officers for 2020/21

    Let's welcome your newly elected MDXSU leaders for the year of 2020-21

    Middlesex University Students’ Union are proud to welcome your new Student Officer team, who have now commenced their terms as your elected MDXSU leaders.
    The new team were elected during the MDXSU Elections in March, which saw 1,546 students casting a total of 5,157 votes to decide who should lead MDXSU over the next year.

    Over the past few weeks, the new officer team have worked through a handover period with our outgoing officers, attended a range of training workshops and webinars, and begun to meet university staff. Our new Student Officer team will now continue their induction and are looking forward to planning their campaigns and leading on the Students’ Union’s work for the coming year.

    • Gagandeep Kaur - MDXSU President

    The President is the figurehead of the Students' Union, leading the officer team and acting as the first point of contact for campus-wide issues. The President also chairs our Trustee Board and Union Council, and represents students on the University’s Board of Governors, the highest decision-making body in the university.

    • Nishtha Relan - VP Arts and Creative Industries

    The Vice President of Arts and Creative Industries represents all students studying art and creative courses at Middlesex and works closely with the Student Voice Leaders for Art, Design, Media and Performing Arts courses.

    Nishtha’s key manifesto points & upcoming priorities for the Arts & Creative Industries are the following:

    • Tahmina Choudhery - VP Professional & Social Sciences

    The Vice President of Professional and Social Sciences represents all students within the Business School, School of Law and School of Health & Education at Middlesex and works closely with Student Voice Leaders for these courses.

    Re-elected for office, Tahmina's priorities for Professional & Social Sciences are the following:

    • Khalid Abumaye – VP Science & Technology

    The Vice President of Science and Technology represents all students within this faculty and works closely with Student Voice Leaders for these courses.

    Huge thanks goes to our two outgoing officers Anas Badar El Martili and Lucy Holland who, alongside Khalid and Tahmina, have been outstanding representatives for Middlesex students, incredible leaders of the Students’ Union, and have delivered real change which will benefit many students at Middlesex.
