02/12/2020
Are you staying in London over the winter break?
If you’re planning on staying in London for the winter break and not travelling home (i.e. staying in your halls of residence or private accommodation), we want to make sure that you get all the support you might need to stay well. Let us know by completing this quick sign-up form and we’ll be in touch about support, useful information and community activities that will help you stay well and connected over this period.
Campus still open from 9 December though the Winter Break
You can find the Library Christmas opening hours here.
We have introduced short bookings for students who need to use a computer to print out a piece of work
Booked Study sessions: Bookable Study spaces are available in the basement and ground floor areas of the library, 11.00am to 1.30pm and 2pm to 5 pm. There is a half hour closure for cleaning 1.30pm to 2pm. (Some 1 hours slots are also available.) For further details please visit: https://libguides.mdx.ac.uk/bookings
Book returns: Between Tuesday 22 December 2020 and Monday 4 Jan ‘21, the external book returns slot will be available 24hrs a day as normal.
*Please note: Book Returns will not be available on Sunday 20 December and Monday 21 December due to maintenance
Click and Collect service: The Click and Collect service will be suspended over the Christmas period; however we have increased the number of requests that students can place from 5 to 12. These can be collected prior to the end of term and will allow students to get hold of more study materials for the Christmas break, if needed.
Kit Hub: the hub will remain fully operational until Friday 11 December and returns will be received until Tuesday 15 December.
Practice rooms: The music practice rooms in Grove B will be fully accessible until Friday 18 December.
From 21 December – 4 January 2021
UniHelp will be available throughout the University closure period via chat, online and on the phone apart from Christmas day (25th December), Boxing day (26th December) and New Year’s Day (1st January 2021). UniHelp is your first point of call for general student enquiries.
If you are concerned about your own safety or the safety or wellbeing of another student over the closure period, please complete this online referral form. Receipt of forms will be monitored 9am – 5pm through the University closure period.
