Santander Universities Scholarship Programme

Santander Universities have developed a new scholar’s programme aimed at breaking down barriers for current students who are most likely to face challenges when attending higher education.

The initiative provides funding to support students through to graduation, £10,000 per year, alongside training opportunities to develop their potential. There are 100 scholarships available to help students build brighter futures.

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible, you must self-identify with at least 1 of 10 different groups that the office for students (OFs) have identified as being underrepresented in higher education:

  • Students from areas of low higher education participation, low household income or low socioeconomic status
  • Black, Asian and minority ethnic students
  • Mature students
  • Disabled students
  • Care experienced students
  • Carers
  • Students estranged from their families
  • Students from Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities
  • Refugees
  • Students from military families

To enter you must:

  1. Sign up for the Santander Scholarship Platform
  2. Follow the verification link in your confirmation email
  3. Login and select ‘Enroll’ to complete your application for the Santander Universities Scholars Programme
  4. Complete the application form, including questions on how the scholars programme will help you

Deadline: Applications close at 11pm (UK Time) on 31 January
