Support for students following the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria
07/02/2023
Following the devastating earthquakes in Turkey and Syria, the University is reaching out proactively to students to offer personalised support during this incredibly challenging time.
We recognise that other students may also be affected by these events. You may have family or know friends who are based there. We encourage you to reach out for support if you are affected in any way.
Supporting your emotional wellbeing during the traumatic world events
Fear and anxiety about what is happening in various places in the world can be overwhelming and emotionally challenging. The Counselling and Mental HealthService is our team of mental health professionals that holds a confidential space of compassion and support for students in the UK. The quickest way to reach out to us is through the OneOff appointment request, offering you the chance for a one-time either online or in-person appointment with a member of team within the same or next day.
We have a free dedicated helpline available24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Just use WhatsApp and text 'Hi' to the number+44 (0)7418 360 780 and mention you’re an international Middlesex Student. They’re there to listen, and you can even request to speak to a counsellor that speaks your first language, if you feel more comfortable to do so.
