Santander Universities UK’s mission is to support students from diverse backgrounds into university, work and self-employment. Collaborating with a large network of university partners, we have spent over ten successful years removing barriers to higher education and, in turn, providing life changing opportunities to students from across the UK.
The programme is exclusively for Black and Black mixed Undergraduate students / recent graduates (graduating in the academic year 2019-2020) in the UK
There will be 3,000 opportunities available. Places will be randomly allocated
The programme will be run entirely online in collaboration with Finance Unlocked, an on-demand video-delivered learning platform built specifically for finance professionals and will consist of 8 hours of on-demand content focused on a range of trending financial topics including green finance, blockchain, private equity, and debt capital finance. Participants will be able to enhance their financial skills through videos and access to real-life case studies
Upon completion of the 8-hours content and online assessments participants will receive a digital certificate and all who score 80% or more will also have the opportunity to win one of 30 £1,500 Santander Scholarships. The 30 winning students will be randomly selected from all who score 80% and above
All participants who opt in will also be kept informed of any potential employment opportunities within the Bank including the Santander Graduate Scheme and internship opportunities
The programme will launch on the Santander Scholarship Platform (Becas) on 10 January 2021 and applications close on 5 March 2021. The 3,000 successful applicants will be announced on 12 March 2021
The online programme for the 3,000 successful applicants will launch on 30 March and run for 6 weeks (until 9 May). Applicants can complete the programme in their own time across the 6 week period but must complete the full 8 hours of content and associated assessments by 9 May in order to be considered for one of the £1,500 scholarships (subject to receiving an average score of 80% or more).
