5 reasons why your feedback matters

The National Student Survey is now open for final-year undergraduate students to complete. We understand that the biggest motivation for giving feedback is knowing that your responses actually go somewhere… so Student Writer, Amelia Krzapa, reports on how your feedback really is used to make an impact at Middlesex

Middlesex University is a place where student feedback really matters. I've been investigating how schools and services are continuously working to improve our experiences and time spent on campus. Here are just some of the highlights:

1.Two brand-new high-quality rehearsal rooms for Media and Performing Arts

Media and Performing Arts students raised their concerns about not enough space to practice. Today, they don’t have to wait for an hour, they can just go there and practice.

“It’s awesome that I have an opportunity to practise whenever I want. Moreover, I can use the high-quality equipment for free.” Paula

2. An additional Animation Studio for Art & Design

It’s important for design students to do as much practical work as possible - creating their projects and work in order to prepare themselves for the world of work. After feeding back about the lack of space to do this, the University added an additional specialised studio.

“I feel I am developing my skills, thanks to the professional facilities.” Emma

3. A space for students to study in Grove Block C which includes printing facility

We all love the Grove. That’s why we are so happy to finally have a study space there. Free printing is very useful as well – no more queuing in the library.

“It feels like home now.” Stuart

4.New seating area overlooking the ‘Grove Park’.

Grove Atrium is sometimes crowded. Students felt there was a lack of peaceful and quiet areas to relax and study. This was fed back and the University responded by adding some quieter areas.

“When I sit there looking out of the window I get inspired to write my songs.” Anna

5. Improvements made to my course

Your feedback is important not only to improve facilities around campus, but also to improve many other aspects of university life.

Journalism and Media: My peers and I became concerned that one of our modules didn’t have enough learning content in it. We fed this bit of feedback back to our our Programme Leader, Sophie Knowles. She acted immediately by bringing experts outside of the University to come and share their experiences and knowledge.

MDX ARE trying to make sure we get as much as we can from our time at university. So if you have any feedback, make sure you raise it.

Got a concern or a piece of feedback? Make sure you feed this back to the University to make YOUR impact.

Student lifestyle posts which reflect the interests of our students are written by student interns working within the Marketing department and do not reflect the research, guidance or opinions of Middlesex University.
