Things to look forward to in the New Year

As 2016 draws to a close and the winter break gets nearer, we’ve compiled some of the exciting events and activities taking place in the New Year. It’s an exciting time to be a student at Middlesex and there are even greater things to look forward to in 2017.

Harry Potter Movie Night (Tues 17th Jan) – Join MDXSU and MDX Harry Potter Society for a night of movies and Harry Potter themed magical fun.

Students at the FairMDX Fair (Wed 18th Jan) – Remind yourself about the support services, benefits and free opportunities available to you at Middlesex University.

ReFresh Fair (Thurs 19th Jan) – Your Students’ Union is here to help you make the most of your time at Middlesex. Attend their Refresh Fair to meet Societies, Liberation groups and POW! Media; pick up freebies and discounts from local businesses.

Societies Party and Karaoke (Thurs 19th Jan) All students are invited to this celebration of MDXSU’s amazing Societies and student groups. It’s the perfect opportunity to meet new people and try out some karaoke.

Refresh Jan 2017‘Why Not?’ Week (Mon 23rd – Fri 27th Jan) - The New Year is an ideal time to try something new. Your Students’ Union are organising a week of free sessions and events, from Society samplers to skills-building workshops. Arcade Night (Mon 23rd Jan) – Make the most of your Monday with MDXSU’s ever-popular games night in MDX House, featuring everything from FIFA and Mario Kart to retro classics like Jenga.

PG Connect (Tues 24th Jan) – This event is a great opportunity for current postgraduate students or final year undergraduates to listen to inspirational speakers and network with peers, alumni, academics and high-profile achievers.

MDXSU Refresh House Party (Thurs 26th Jan) – Featuring treats and giveaways, plus our infamous House Party DJs bringing you the best of the charts and some Middlesex favourites. Buy your ticket online now.

PG ConnectLittle Miss Sunshine film screening and discussion (Fri 27th Jan) – Join MDXSU for a free film-screening of Little Miss Sunshine – a family’s cross-country venture to get their young daughter into the final of a beauty pageant – followed by a discussion on mental health.

Music is the Answer (Fri 27th Jan) – MDXSU, Singers & Musician Society and POW! FM present a night of karaoke, open mic and performances by talented young student musicians.

Your Middlesex. Your Voice – In January, we’ll be launching a University wide campaign to put students at the heart of decision-making and highlight how your feedback is improving your University community.

Sport opportunities – across January and the New Year, there are also a wide range of opportunities to take part in Middlesex sport and recreation activities.

Middlesex University wishes Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all students.
