    How to make it happen?

    Your preparation journey in five easy steps!

    Study Placement

    Step 1: After you have researched our exchange opportunities, discuss your options with your Programme Leader or research supervisor (if postgraduate student) and secure their support.

    Step 2: Book an appointment with the Erasmus and Exchange Team in order to submit your signed Registration of Interest form.

    Step 3: After being nominated to your host university by the Erasmus and Exchange Team, use the application material provided to apply to your host university. They will support you in accommodation and Visa matters.

    Step 4: Come to the mandatory Pre-Departure Briefing on invitation of the Erasmus and Exchange Team. There you will research all necessary information about your exchange.

    Step 5: You are in a new country – enjoy the cultural and academic experience! Do keep in touch with us and share your experience.

    Work Placement

    Step 1: Talk with your Programme Leader: you must have his/her support!

    Step 2: Register your interest online with the Employability Team (If you need assistance, you may always book an appointment)

    Step 3: Complete Employability survey and ask them for advice to improve your CV and Cover Letter

    Step 4. Look up and secure a WP in an organisation:

    Step 5: To receive the Grant, send an email to with your MDX number, the Company details (name, address, phone, email, etc.) and the start and end dates of your exchange.

    Please note that Erasmus+ funding is not guaranteed. Students are eligible for up to 12 months funding per study cycle, however as funding is limited, we are unable to fund all students for this length of time. Funding agreed for one placement does not mean that funding will automatically be available for a second placement. Where possible we endeavour to accommodate extensions of work placements. Please note that you must contact the team no later than 1 month before your placement starts in order to organise required documentation and ascertain grant availability.
