Government to introduce student loans for postgraduate study

The Government has announced that those starting a postgraduate degree in October 2016 may be able to access student loans worth up to £10,000.

Whilst an official launch date has yet to be announced, more details about the eligibility criteria, and repayment terms, can be found here.

In response to the Government's announcement, Vice Chancellor Tim Blackman commented "I am delighted at the government's decision to provide student loans for UK and EU postgraduate students from 2016 onwards. This new source of funding will remove a significant financial barrier and allow many more people from all backgrounds the opportunity to continue developing their skills and expertise."

The University will be running a number of postgraduate study events in the second semester, including a fees and funding presentation, and a scholarship workshop. More details about these events will be made available in the new year.
