Met Office issues weather warnings for London

The Met Office has issued weather warnings for London as forecasters said there is a "high risk" of snow in London today, Friday 13 January 2017

In the event of snow and or freezing conditions the University will not normally close. If there is any change to this situation, students will be notified via a further announcement on UniHub.

During snow or freezing conditions the University will:

    • Follow a snow and ice prevention and treatment plan
    • Maintain safe access to all the main internal routes as far as is reasonably practicable. Priority will be given to entrances, ramps, steps and the main pedestrian routes
    • Salt and grit will be applied to the main pedestrian and vehicle routes in anticipation of ice or snow in an attempt to prevent it forming and accumulating.

The safety and welfare students are a priority at all times but particularly during times of adverse weather. It is expected that students will take due care for their own safety in adverse conditions; including weather suitable footwear and clothing.
