MDXMas Market | Wednesday 8 December | 11:00 am - 5:00 pm

Get into the festive spirit with MDXmas Market 2021 - Student or staff, apply for your stall now via the SU website! As well as showcasing talent from student performers, the MDXmas Market will also include over 50 stalls from talented students and local independent sellers - expect everything from crafts and artwork, to jewellery and candles, as well as warming food and drink. The event will take place in the Scholars’ Courtyard (Middlesex University Hendon campus) between 11.00 and 5.00pm on Wednesday 8th December, with students, staff and the local community all welcome to attend.

"Time for Winter Break Pop-Up event" | Wednesday 8 December | 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Join us for an afternoon full of light-hearted, fun social activities themed around Christmas and the festive season! With Mince Pies for getting involved, a drink upon pre-registering and a chance to snap up a polaroid photo, what's not to love?! Don't miss out on winding down, and reflecting on your achievements at our 'Time for the Winter Break' Pop-Up Event taking place on Wednesday 8th December, from 1pm-4pm in the College Building Quad.

    Celebrate Human Rights' Day 2021 with a lively and insightful discussion about the film The Dark Side of Chocolate which is free to watch on YouTube: https://youtu.be/7Vfbv6hNeng?t=8 Watch the film at a time that suits you then join panel members including 3rd year International Politics and Law student Milijana Bodroza. People of all faiths and none are welcome.

  • Christmas Lights Walking tour of London | Thursday 9 December | 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm

    Join this student led tour of all the bright, sparkly and festive Christmas lights in central London. We'll go past some iconic (and some less so) sights where you can see it all in a new light (no pun intended). It's completely free, just make sure to sign up before hand. We'll be setting off from the reception in the College Building at 5.30pm. Please do not be late (we'd recommend you coming a bit earlier to make sure we don't leave you behind). We'll then be taking a tube to central London, which will be during rush hour. Whilst the tour is free, you will have to pay for your own travel.

Insights with Marvel Opara, disabled mother and single parent of Joe Joyce | Monday 6 December | 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Marvel is a disabled mother and single parent of MDX fine arts alumnus Joe Joyce, who is a boxing Olympian and heavyweight champion. Join us to hear how Marvel supported her Olympian son Joe and his brother, Torann, who is an actor, to achieve their professional accomplishments and how as a disabled woman herself, Marvel dedicates her time to support causes close to her heart. You will be able to ask questions at the end of the talk, or you can submit questions in advance via email at miajmorris@aol.com.

    • Student Iyengar Yoga Workshop | Tuesday 23 November | 9:30 am - 11:00 am

      Join this unique Yoga experience, open to all levels. If you haven't tried yoga before, the instructor will help you become familiar with the basics. And if you are a bit more experienced, you'll be granted the space to explore new routines and to strengthen your body. It's completely free so why not give it a go?

      Healthy Campus Week is a week dedicated to looking after the health and wellbeing of our students and staff. Healthy campus week is a chance to enjoy loads of free activities and events to help keep you in tip top condition this 29 November - 3 December. Looking after your health while you work and study is a factor in enhancing academic performance. We kick the week of on Monday 29 November with the Healthy campus fair in the quad, with loads of informaiton, help advice, health checks, fun activities and more. Plus all week you can enjoy a host of free health based activities

    Brook Drop Ins at Sunny Hill House | Friday 19 November, Friday 3 December and Friday 17 December | 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm

    Within our HIV prevention service for Barnet, we aim to raise awareness of HIV and encourage residents aged 18+ to get tested, helping to reduce the rate of late diagnosis. We’re here to answer all your questions on HIV (shown below), including how and where to get tested.

    You do not need to book or to check in with any member of staff when you arrive. Simply sanitize, sign in using an iPad, select that you are waiting for a Brook drop-in session and take a seat in the waiting room. As soon as a Brook staff member is free, they will collect you and take you to a confidential consultation room.
