MDXMoves end of year point reset announcement 2022

    • Join the BRIT Challenge on MDXMoves this February

      Join us for this years BRIT Challenge supporting young adult mental health and fitness throughout the UK

      Middlesex University is once again supporting the annual BRIT Challenge to raise funds for student mental health. Join our BRIT Challenges on MDX Moves, with 3 challenges available, suitable for everyone to push themselves a little, regardless of your current level of fitness. There will also be bonus points on offer for those that complete the challenge.

      The Challenges will run over 23 days from 1st to 23rd February 2023. Choose the challenge which you feel is most suited and realistically challenging for yourself. A key element of the BRIT Challenge is to raise funds for student mental health charities, so as well as the physical activity challenge, we’re asking participants to either donate personally or raise some sponsorship for this worthwhile cause.

      MDXMoves BRIT Challenges

      • Bronze challenge = 3000 points, which is equivalent to an average 13,000 steps a day (or 3 miles running, or 9 miles cycling a day or a combination of these activities)
      • Silver Challenge = 6000 points which is equivalent to an average 26,000 steps a day
      • Gold Challenge = 9000 points which is equivalent to an average 39,000 steps a day (or 8 miles running or 25 miles cycling a day, or a combination of these activities)

      If you haven’t signed up to MDXMoves yet then you’ll need to download the Moves+ app from your phone store and get registered.

      MDXMoves is an app for Middlesex University students and staff that works with your mobile phone or fitness tracker to keep track of your physical activity and help you stay motivated.     • International Women's Day- Free activities for all

      Celebrating International Women's Day 8th March 2023

      A day to celebrate and show support for International Women's Day (8 March) is a day for us to join voices with people around the world for equal rights: “Women's rights are human rights!”. International Women's day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women.

      At Middlesex University we like to be fully inclusive and so we have some great offers on regardless of how you self identify. See below for our  fab offers.

      Join in our IWD challenge on MDXMoves and you could bag an additional 500 Bonus points. PLUS why not get those move points up by joining in some of our free activities on campus.

      * Open to all (regardless of gender) Simply say  "I'm supporting INT Women's Day" at reception
      * FREE access to the Fitness Pod all day
      * FREE access to our leisure class programme
      * Get a Free 'This Girl can T when you join in our lunchtime Boot Camp class in the Fitness Pod.

    • Sport Relief Mile 13 March 2023 (Walk and Run events on campus)

      Monday 13th March 2023 - starts at 12.15pm

      Sport Relief Walk event

      Join us for Sport Relief this year in our 1 mile campus walk. The event will be clearly marked, taking in much of the campus grounds to cover a 1 mile route, accomnpanied by the Middlesex Mascott Heart. All participants that pre register for the event receive a free Coffee voucher on the day. Plus clock up those steps and gain an additional 250 bonus points.

      Sport Relief 5km - Run Challenge

      Join us for Sport Relief 5km run. The event will be clearly marked and you may even spot our mascott the MDX Heart on your run route. All participants that pre register for the event receive a free Coffee voucher on the day. Plus clock up those points and gain an additional 250 bonus points.

      • Join our Sport Relief events on campus. Meet at the front of the Quad at 12.15pm to take part.
      • You can also join our challenges on MDX Moves to gain extra bonus points
    • 7-A-Side and 5-A-Side Football league on campus

      This year we’re organising a Wednesday and Thursday football leagues on our pitches on campus. Get together with friends from your course, society, or hall of residence, or join individually and we can assign you to a team of enthusiastic team mates all wanting to play weekly football  games right here on campus.

    • Student memberships at the Fitness Pod just £30 for the entire academic year!

      Yes you heard right. This year we are offering our students the amazing offer of joining The Fitness Pod on an annual membership for just £30 for the entire academic year! Your membership will run from September 2022 - May 2023 during off peak hours (Mon - Friday 7.00am - 4.00pm and Weekends 9.00am - 5.00pm). To take advantage of this amazing offer simmply sign up at The Fitness pod reception on the lower ground floor of MDX House. No contract no joining fee, just a one time payment of £30, simple!
