Online resources for online study

Welcome to our Online Resources page

We provide a wide range of resources and support to help you to succeed in your studies.

Each faculty has subject specialist librarians who work with your lecturers to ensure that you have access to the appropriate resources to support your studies. The librarians also provide workshops as part of your programme to help you find and reference the required quality information.

To find out about the key resources for your subject and who your librarian is, the best place to start is the Library Subject Guides.

Please use the following pages to make the most of the library resources and support on offer.

What are you searching for today?

Use Library Search to find and access quality academic resources from the Library’s collections.

It's the best place to start your research and can accessed by using the search box above, from myUniHub or the MDXapp.

Please use our guide on making the best use of Library Search.

  • eBooks

The Library collections include an extensive range of eBooks, well over 100,000!

Our eBooks complement our print books and greatly improve the ease of access to our collection, especially for people studying remotely. They also provide benefits with regard to accessibility. See the  Kortext Accessibility page for more details.

We provide access to our eBooks as Personal eTextbooks and Library eBooks.

Personal eTextbooks

Free Personal eTextbooks are provided to most students enrolled on undergraduate or postgraduate taught courses based at the Hendon campus in London, or the Mauritius campus.

Students on some programmes will be provided with personal access to the Adobe Creative Cloud instead of Personal eTextbooks.

For each module studied, students will receive one free eTextbook – an average of four books per student per year. These textbooks are to keep in perpetuity and students will be able to access them throughout their university career and onwards in their future career.

The scheme is run in partnership with Kortext/JS Group (www.kortext.com) – Please look out for emails from Kortext to your Middlesex University email address.

These emails contain your username (MDX email address) and your password. They also contain any information on any new books added to your account.

Accessing your Personal eTextbooks

There are three main ways to access your Personal eTextbooks:

  • Via myUniHub
Go to MyLearning and in any of your module areas look down the right-hand column for the Personal eTextbook box.
  • Via the Kortext website using your username and password
  • Via the Kortext app (Download for offline access):

If the material you require for your studies or research is not held by the University's campus libraries or electronic resources, the Inter-Library Loans and Document Supply service is here to help you.

We liaise with the British Library and other University libraries both in the UK and abroad to obtain the books or articles you require.

The service is available to all registered students and UK registered staff with a current library registration.
