Your online wellbeing platforms

We have invested in a number of wellbeing platforms so that they are exclusively free for #TeamMDX. We also recommend additional online resources on  this page which are beneficial. All can be used independently for self-care or in conjunction with more formalised support to help look after your wellbeing.

Fika

Fika is an evidence based mental fitness app which is inspired by Scandinavian culture and draws on scientific evidence from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness and Positive Psychology to build emotional fitness.

Download on the App Store or Google Play to access short and snappy 5 minute workouts to improve your confidence, motivation, positivity, employability, focus, sleep and to decrease stress. Use your MDX email address to unlock all premium features and content for free.

You’ll find content delivered by other MDX students, as well as some famous faces such as some renowned GB athletes. Fika courses are now accredited so can be added to your CV or LinkedIn profile.

Togetherall

Togetherall is a well-established online platform that gives you the opportunity to connect emotionally and anonymously with others, in a safe forum with 24/7 moderation by trained professionals.

Accessible any time of the day or night, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, Togetherall has a range of resources and programmes to enable you to express yourself in any way you choose.

Whether you are thriving, surviving, or striving, there is something for every member of the #TeamMDX community.

Here are just some of the opportunities and highlights that you can tap into straight away:

  • Sign up to a wide range of self-guided group and individual courses covering mental health and lifestyle topics
  • Express your feelings by creating a Brick using words, pictures, and images to add to the community wall
  • Explore the library of useful articles and resources, plus helpful tests and features to set goals and track your progress

Accessing Togetherall is easy: simply go to their website and use your Middlesex email address to sign up.

UNIHEADS

UNIHEADS is a 20 minute mental health training course. You’ll learn how to look after your wellbeing and mental health, how to support a friend who might be struggling, learn how to stay well in light of Covid-19 and be signposted to university and SU resources and support. You can start the course and come back to it at any time.

To enrol:

  1. Visit www.uniheads.co.uk/students
  2. Register using an email address or a social account and create a password
  3. Select Middlesex University under 'University of Study' and input your 'Year of Study' from the scroll lists
  4. You will be directed immediately to the launch page to get started

Kooth

Kooth is an online mental wellbeing community and offers free, safe and anonymous support. Kooth is available for 18 - 25-year-olds and provides free, safe and anonymous support through the community and BACP qualified mental health professionals and needs no referral, nor is there any waiting list.

Miindset

Miindset is designed to help you manage your mental health and wellbeing by giving you tailored mental health and wellbeing content thanks to the Miindset Wellness Checker and clever AI. You can take your personalised support with you anywhere, with zero wait time, whenever you need it. Miindset is on a mission to change mental health and wellbeing provision amongst the global student population. Download on your phone (available on Apple and Android) or access Miindset from a tablet or laptop.
