Human rights at the heart of MDX

From the European Human Rights Advocacy Centre

PR and Development Officer

The European Human Rights Advocacy Centre (EHRAC) moved to the Middlesex campus in January 2013. Middlesex and their School of Law made us feel right at home.

Being here means we can continue to fight for justice at the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, on behalf of people whose rights have been violated at the hands of their own states. This ranges from people who are denied the right to peacefully demonstrate, to civilians in the North Caucasus whose relatives were abducted by Russian State Agents and were never seen again.

We also gain a lot from being part of such a large institution, such as forming good links with the Middlesex press team, who help us to publicise our work and successes at the European Court.

We recently celebrated our 10th anniversary by putting on a special photography exhibition in the Grove, showing human rights abuse victims in former Soviet Union.
