Dame Janet Ritterman is Chancellor of Middlesex University. A prominent academic and musician, she has a global reputation as a champion of the arts, who helped to develop the UK’s first performing arts degree programme whilst at Middlesex. She sits on the Main Board of the Austrian Research Council and chairs their International Board for arts-based research. Dame Janet previously taught at Middlesex’s Trent Park campus and more recently served on the University’s Board of Governors. In 2002, she was appointed Dame Commander of the British Empire for services to music.
