Diane Purchase is an Associate Professor and programme leader of the internationally-renowned MSc in Environmental Pollution Control in the School of Science and Technology at Middlesex University. Specialising in environment, biotechnology and bioremediation, Diane is invested in devising environmentally-friendly ways of removing toxic substances through the role of microorganisms to degrade materials that lead to pollution. In 2015, Diane was appointed the Task Group Chair by the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) to lead the IUPAC funded project “The Environmental and Health Challenges of E-waste and its Management: An Emerging 21st Century Global Concern.”
