Emma Dick

Emma Dick 180Emma Dick is Lecturer in Fashion Visual Culture at Middlesex University and Director of Projects & Training at SPINNA, a non-profit organisation empowering women in fashion and textiles globally. Through SPINNA, Emma works with female artisans and designers all over the world.  She is currently working with communities in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, enabling them to share their skills, learn new techniques, build their business knowledge and widen their trade networks. Her impressive work has helped to promote collaboration between craftspeople in some of the most economically disconnected parts of the world, increasing the livelihoods of technically skilled women otherwise working in isolation. In doing so, Emma has also shown how the fashion textile industry can work as an equitable, sustainable global community which benefits people across many levels.
