Studying at Middlesex taught me valuable skills that set me on my career in the fashion industry.
My studies not only gave me practical skills but it also changed my way of thinking. During my course I had the chance to meet and talk to current industry professionals, who gave me advice based on their own experiences. These things fundamentally prepared me to take on the industry.
I feel that I had the opportunity to grow as a person and gain lots of new skills and knowledge while on my degree, such as how to produce high quality garments and meet strict deadlines. I was in the perfect environment to grow.
After graduating I registered my own company and went on to win the Alfa Romeo Young Designer Of The Year 2013 Award. Middlesex has supported me continually even after my graduation, and helped me to produce my SS14 collection. During the run up to the fashion show in September 2013; Middlesex helped me with promoting the show which really helped push the event. I am now working on another collection and I am still supported by Middlesex and its alumni network.
The encouragement from friends and staff at Middlesex really helped me to push myself to chase my dream and stay focused. I have always wanted to have my own fashion label and during my degree I was able to gain the confidence and the determination to carry out my ambition.
My aim now is to continue with my design work and break new boundaries, once I achieve this I will move on to Milan!
