Ravi Jay and Asaf Nahum, MBA graduates and entrepreneurs

Ravi Jay and Asaf Nahum have revolutionised London's historic markets by creating a website, myMzone.com, which allows local market traders to sell their products to shoppers from across the world. The two entrepreneurs found the inspiration for their award-winning business, while they were studying their MBAs at Middlesex.

Middlesex alumnus Ravi said : "During our MBA, we realised that there was no single online platform which tourists and shoppers could maintain their connection with local markets and their products. We decided to do something about it and started myMzone.com"

Fellow Middlesex alumnus Asaf added: "Tourists often comment on the uniqueness of London markets and we wanted to share that with the world, while helping to preserve local markets and businesses."

The pair are thrilled with their success, having received the Tata Blue Skies Award for Disruptive Business category at the National Association of College & University Entrepreneurs Varsity Pitch 2012. The award was given for innovation, creativity, scalability and management.

Ravi said: "It is good to get endorsements for the business idea in the form of awards and recognition. We draw inspiration and drive from the positive feedback to work harder and attain true potential of the business idea."

The myMzone.com idea has boosted sales for market traders at Camden, Brick Lane, Portobello, Spitalfields, Borough and Greenwich markets and they hope to expand to more markets in the future.
