Celebrating World Social Work Day - Tuesday 16 March 2021

18/03/2021

The social work team in the Department of Mental Health and Social Work celebrated World Social Work Day this year with staff and students who are proud of the huge contribution social work makes to society and communities with their underlying values of social justice, care and promoting diversity.

'As social workers we are a unique profession working with individuals, families and communities to promote change, provide safeguarding and challenge oppressive practices.

We influence policy and practice in organisations and for over 40 years, we have proudly delivered social work education at Middlesex University. Our ‘Middlesex model’ of social work is innovative with a partnership approach including the ‘North London Social Work Teaching Partnership’. We have valued partners across NHS Trusts, government, voluntary agencies, schools  and charities, plus private companies.

We are proud of our wonderful social work students and our social work professional history  at Middlesex University, we deliver social work at our fabulous Hendon Campus and across England.'
