Societies are groups or clubs of students sharing interests or hobbies. Joining a society is an amazing opportunity to try something new, develop your interests, enhance your degree and discover lifelong friendships. There are over 70 societies available and they range from general interest societies to religious and course-based groups.

The MDXSU's Liberation Groups are students that come together to network, share experiences and campaign for change focusing on students who face oppression and discrimination and are often underrepresented and disadvantaged during their time at University. There are four Liberation Groups on campus, for women, disabled, black, and LGBT students.
Do you have a passion for writing or recording, or do you want an outlet to get creative on campus? Getting involved in your student media (POW) is an excellent way to showcase and develop your talents, through platforms such as magazine, radio, TV channel and online blog.
MDXSU Welcome events include the infamous Thames Boat Party, Arcade games nights, two freebie-filled days of Freshers’ Fair, plus themed club nights on campus. You can apply for an Erasmus+ Grant to study at any of our European partners and some of our worldwide partners. Additionally, students from disadvantaged backgrounds can receive a supplement also. Over half of our partners teach in English, so language skills are not essential.
Enhance your CV and employability with a funded two-month work placement. This can be undertaken at any time during your degree or immediately after you graduate. You can apply for Erasmus+ funding in addition to any payment by the employer.
