In celebration of Black History Month Dr. Nana Konadu Agyeman–Rawlings, former First Lady of Ghana launches her new book 'It takes a woman' at MDX
Dr. Nana Konadu Agyeman–Rawlings, former First Lady of the Republic of Ghana will be joining us at MDX for the launch of her new book entitled: 'It Takes a Woman - A Life Shaped by Heritage, Leadership and the Women Who Defined Hope'.
Dr Agyeman-Rawlings is also the Executive President of Developing Women for Mobilization (DWM) formerly known as 31st December Women’s Movement, championing women and children’s rights. As first lady, Mrs Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings represented Ghana at conferences where she maintained her unwavering advocacy for gender equality, equity and for the empowerment of the woman through a multi-sectoral approach, drawing on her experiences as president of the DWM.
At this event, Dr Doirean Wilson, Diversity Lead at Middlesex University will explore the themes of women's and children's rights in her new novel with Dr Agyeman-Rawlings.
The event will be held in conjunction with Black History Month to recognise the achievements and contributions of people of African descent .
