Usher Hall

Usher Hall is a small hall of residence that’s right across the road from our campus in Hendon. The modern rooms are all en-suite with shared kitchens and TV common rooms. And you can make the most of campus life on your doorstep with places to study, eat and hang out.

The details

Located opposite the main entrance to the University and just minutes away Hendon Central station, Usher Hall has 182 single study bedrooms, all complete with en-suite facilities. Get to know your new roommates in the shared kitchens and common rooms. There is also a laundry room on site.

Ivy Hall

This is a friendly hall with a great community spirit. There are large shared kitchens where you can cook for yourself and your friends or get outside in the courtyard to play table tennis and sit in the sun.

A short journey from the Hendon campus, Ivy Hall is located near Cricklewood station, close to local amenities and just a bus or train ride away from central London.

Ivy Hall consists of 181 single bedrooms arranged in 14 blocks. 49 of these rooms are en-suite and the remaining have shared shower and toilet facilities.

How to apply

New students

You can apply for accommodation in our halls of residence when you have accepted your place to study with us.

Apply online for accommodation

Our online application system does not work through the Google Chrome browser.

International students

If you are an international student who has applied through one of our overseas regional offices and been offered a place on a course by them, you can either apply online for accommodation or apply through your regional office.

Your security

You will be given a magnetic card which gives you access to your block, your room, and postal box. Security officers are on duty every day during the week and you should call them if you have issues or emergencies.

Your contract

Your accommodation contract starts from the date given on your acceptance form – you can move in on or after this date. You cannot apply for a contract that finishes before 29 August 2022. Students who arrive late, or leave their accommodation before the end of their contract will not receive a refund.

You have to move out of your halls before 10.00am on Monday 29 August 2022.

Staying for the academic year

If you are offered a room in Usher Hall or Platt Hall your new contract will start on 12 September. You will need to book accommodation for the two weeks between the end of your pre-sessional contract and the beginning of the academic year contract. You can book and pay for these two weeks directly with our partner company Optivo. Please speak to the team at the accommodation office for more information on this process or if you want to stay at Ivy Hall during that period.
