Online resources for online study

Library Search

Use Library Search to find and access quality academic resources. If we don’t have something you need, please suggest a book

Reading Lists

All modules now have online reading lists. You can also see the reading list for your module on the right hand side of the module page in My Learning.

eTextbooks

Free personal eTextbooks (or an equivalent learning resource) are provided to all students enrolled on undergraduate and postgraduate modules based at the UK Hendon campus.  The eTextbook is yours to keep through your degree and after.  The scheme is run in partnership with the company Kortext. For more information on how to get your books, see the eTextbook page.

My Subject - Library Guides

Our My Subject - Library Guides contain full details of the resources relevant to your subject.

Ask a Librarian

We have an online enquiry service called Ask a Librarian for all your questions about using our resources. If you need more help with your study or research, please contact your subject liaison librarian.

Journals and databases

The Library subscribes to many thousands of journals and newspapers, most of which are now online. To find out if we have a specific journal go to Library Search and use 'Journal Title Search'.

You can also search the individual journal collections (databases).  To see what we have, go to databases and then browse by database name.

eResources

We have a large collection of electronic books available via reading lists and Library Search and film and video resources such as:

Research Collections

All of our electronic resources  support research. In addition we have a Research Repository, the Museum of Domestic Design and Architecture and a number of special collections.

There is a Research Library Subject Guide with more detailed help for research staff.

Academic staff and all students (except Full Time Undergraduates) can use and borrow from the libraries of most other UK universities through SCONUL Access. This includes all the major research libraries in London.

Inter-library loans

If none of our collections contain what you need, we can use our connections to academic libraries worldwide to get what you need. For more information see our Inter-Library Loans page.
