The Student Financial Support Office is responsible for confirming student attendance to the Student Loan Company (SLC) for both payments of maintenance and tuition fee support. We also ensure that Student Finance England (or the appropriate funding body for students living in Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland) has the correct course, year of study, mode of study and fee charge details for all students who have applied for financial support. In addition we administer the Access to Learning Fund, Scholarships and Bursaries and arrange payments for PGCE bursary, Erasmus grants and studentships.

The Student Welfare Advice Team (SWAT) is here to help you deal with any financial, practical or legal difficulties you may face during your studies at Middlesex.
The SWAT deals with a range of issues, including:
SWAT are available for private consultation and offer personalised advice to students which accommodate your distinct needs. We are based in The Sheppard Library near UniHub and provide a service which is non-judgemental and strictly confidential, which means we will not discuss any of the details of your visit unless you give us permission to do so.
The SWAT also run a number of workshops which are relevant to specific groups of students. We also have regular 'Claim it' advice desks, where we can check that you are getting all the money you are entitled too. Look at the TV screens to see what's coming on your campus.
In addition to this, the SWAT produces information leaflets which cover key areas relevant to students. These are called 'Welfare Advice Guides' and can be downloaded in PDF format below. If you can't get to see us straight away look at our Welfare Advice Guides as you may find the answer to your question, saving you time and worry.
