Results of the MDXSU Student Voice Leader Elections

02/11/2016
Voting has now closed and the results are in for the MDXSU October Elections!

The elections decided which MDX students would be elected as Student Voice Leaders, Halls Leaders, Student Trustees and members of the Democracy and Involvement Committee this year.

After hundreds of votes being received prior to the 10pm deadline on Sunday 30th October, your Students’ Union can now announce the results – congratulations to everyone who was elected!

Scroll down to see who will be your representatives this year, or find out more about elections - including our main MDXSU Elections next term - and elected roles with Middlesex Students' Union at www.mdxsu.com/elections

Student Voice Leaders

Student Voice Leaders represent their coursemates on each year of each course at Middlesex. They take issues and ideas to key university staff, then work in collaboration with the university and students' union to make changes at MDX that students want to see!

There are still some Student Voice Leader "vacancies" within some years of some courses. If your Student Voice Leader is not listed on your Schools page above, then the role is available. If you want to ensure you and your coursemates’ views are heard this year, please email studentvoice@mdx.ac.uk to put yourself forward or find out more.

Student Trustees

The Trustee Board is MDXSU's highest governing body! Our Student Trustees attend trustee meetings once or twice a term, sitting alongside the four full-time Student Officers and our expert external trustees to discuss finances, strategy and long-term goals for your Students' Union.

Twenty students put themselves forward for just two positions on the Trustee Board. The two elected students with the highest number of votes were:
Hafsa Momin
Bipin K C

If you are interested in becoming a Student Trustee, further opportunities will be available within the main MDXSU Elections next term.

Democracy and Involvement Committee

The Democracy and Involvement Committee (DAIC) meet two to three times a term, and make sure that Middlesex Students' Union is accessible and reaching out to all areas of the student population. DAIC have strategic control over how MDXSU run our democracy, meaning they prepare election rules and decide the democratic calendar for the academic year.

Twelve candidates put themselves for just three positions on the Democracy and Involvement Committee. The three elected students with the highest number of votes were:
Yashraf Bhatti
Edward Anderson
Lily Cheung

If you are interested in becoming a member of DAIC, further opportunities will be available within the main MDXSU Elections next term.

Halls Leaders

Over twelve Halls Leaders have been across all MDX Halls of Residence, which will be listed shortly at www.mdxsu.com/halls-leaders. Want to help make the most of your time in halls this year? There are still some Halls Leader positions available if you are interested – email studentvoice@mdx.ac.uk to find out more.
