The building formerly known as Forum North is close to completion
Featuring Barnet's largest green wall, the area will cover 110 square metres once all 3,500 plants have been installed. The eight species of plants that make up the wall have been chosen because they'll give colour all year round.
The main building is due to be completed on 1 August 2016. It will give us an additional 3,300 square metres of footprint over five floors and provide specialist, innovative teaching rooms for the Schools of Science and Technology, Art and Design in addition to Media and Performing Arts.
Environmental sustainability is at the heart of the Ritterman building. And in an aim to save water, it will utilise an advanced irrigation system which will both store and trickle rain water down the living wall. As a result, the building has been awarded an 'excellent' BREEAM rating.
