Services for visitors

We offer visitors access to our collections by appointment only. For further information or to request a visit please contact the Library & Learning Spaces Manager, Benedict Spencer. We reserve the right to withdraw access to anyone who does not observe  Library and IT Policies. Please note you must be aged 18 or over to access Middlesex University Library.

Wifi: MDXOPEN

MDXOPEN is free and open to anyone on campus who requires internet access. Visitors will need to bring their own device/s.

SCONUL

The SCONUL Access Scheme

SCONUL Access scheme and Covid-19

In line with Government guidelines, and following the closure of library buildings, SCONUL will be suspending the SCONUL Access scheme until further notice.

We look forward to welcoming users back to our member libraries once the threat of the Coronavirus has passed.

The following SCONUL restrictions for the Academic year 2020 to 2021 are as follows:

Middlesex University extends borrowing rights to the following bands:

  • Band A:  Staff and research students
  • Band B:  Part time, distance learning and placements students
  • Band C:  Full time postgraduates

Full time undergraduates are allowed reference use only.

EduRoam

EduRoam is a free wireless service. If your Institution is a member of EduRoam, you will be able to access this internet service whilst at Middlesex University.

To login please enter your home institutional network credentials following any appropriate institutional guidance.

Once you are logged in, you will be able to access Wi-Fi and your home institution's e-resources. See the EduRoam Wireless Access Guide for further information.

Visitors will need to bring their own laptops/devices.

Alumni

Due to the current situation, and in the interest of Health and Safety, Alumni access will be suspended until further notice.

Students from other institutions

Middlesex University has a number of relationships with institutions around the world which may include access to the Library, its resources and facilities. To find out if your institution has library access please contact your home institution in the first instance, as institutions have a variety of arrangements in place. If you have any queries about access, please refer these to the Library & Learning Spaces Manager.

Members of the public

Due to increased demands on services by our students and staff, we are no longer able to offer entry by subscription to members of the public. If you are a researcher wishing to enquire about access to our collections please contact Benedict Spencer, Library & Learning Spaces Manager Please note you must be aged 18 or over to access Middlesex University Library. We reserve the right to withdraw access to anyone who does not observe Library and IT Policies .
