We have recently installed Automated Meter Readers (AMR’s) on 90% of our gas and electricity meters.
These AMRs are the industrial version of the smart meters that you may have at home.
AMRs collect data and enable us to remotely monitor energy consumption and when combined with data analysis software allow us to identify anomalies in use on the Hendon estate.
The next stage of the project is to share energy consumption information in a dashboard format on the University display screens in order to engage staff and students in energy reduction.
